Antique Caucasian Lankoran (8' X 3'8)
This exquisite antique Caucasian runner belongs to a distinctive group of Talish rugs, specifically those named after the southeastern coastal town of Lenkoran. These rugs are renowned for their signature design, featuring large horned medallions along the vertical axis. This particular piece showcases two such medallions, woven in a rich palette of pale orange, ivory, brown, and light green against a deep indigo-blue field. Between them lies a Star Kazak-style medallion in matching colors, adding to its unique character. The rug is framed by an ivory main border, complemented by two guard borders—one in pale orange and the other in brown.
This runner is in excellent condition, with minimal wear and no restorations. The wool is of exceptional quality, with a high knot count, and all dyes are organic. Both the sides and ends remain in their original state. The estimated time to handcraft this masterpiece is approximately 1,250 hours.
