Antique Handmade Persian Heriz (11'1 X 8'10)
A stunning example of Northwest woven artistry, this Heriz rug showcases a breathtaking color palette featuring indigo blue, soft green, terracotta, sky blue, salmon, lemon yellow, and an array of other hues that create an unrivaled visual spectacle. The bold design centers around a grand navy medallion, which gracefully embraces numerous smaller emblems in various shapes and sizes. This intricate composition is further enriched with angular vines and spandrels, all enclosed within a striking rust-colored border adorned with palmettes and leaves, known as the Samaver diagram. The four corners of this Heriz are particularly mesmerizing.
This antique Heriz remains in excellent condition, with only minor areas of wear and a single restoration carried out by an expert weaver from the local Heriz region. The repair has been reinforced on the back to ensure lasting durability. Hand-spun wool, dyed using all-natural elements, was used in the rug’s meticulous craftsmanship. All sides and ends remain in their original state. The estimated time required to hand-knot this magnificent piece is approximately 3,600 hours.
