This is a beautiful example of a Zigler mahal carpet, showcasing the signature pattern of the turn of the century interior design company, Zigler. It features an amazing pale gold/yellow field decorated with flowers and leaves which creates a garden of joy. The rug is framed with an indigo blue border and two dark orange guard borders. In addition to the beautiful design this rug's rare square shape makes it one of a kind!
This rug is in great shape with an even, low pile, consistent with its use and age. There is a tiny, old, expert restoration on one corner. All sides and ends are original. All dyes used to make this rug are organic. Wool is hand spun and well pounded and knots are very fine. Estimated time to hand knot this rug is about 600 hours.
