This stunning antique Sarouk rug features a rich red-orange field, beautifully accented by a small, cross-shaped medallion in an eye-catching gold-yellow hue, adorned with delicate floral bouquets on all four sides. At each end, intricate floral and leaf motifs bloom in shades of deep indigo, sky blue, and warm tan, adding vibrant contrast. A navy blue main border, decorated with an elegant leaf and carnation pattern, frames the piece, flanked by two tan guard borders for a balanced finish.
The rug remains in excellent condition with no restorations. Some lines are missing at each end (visible in the photos) and were intentionally left untouched to preserve the rug’s authenticity. The sides also retain their original state. Crafted with exceptional quality wool and a remarkably sturdy construction, this rug reflects the skill and dedication of its makers — an estimated 700 hours of hand-knotting went into its creation.
