Almost square, this recent hand knotted Heriz has an interesting design that is different than most Herizes. Although the Turkish knots and construction of the rug definitely points to the town of Heriz as the origin of the rug, the design is rather Victorian. It has an oval medallion in light green housing a traditional Heriz medallion in maroon red. The rug is framed with an ivory border that is more like European design and a very interesting guard border with animal and birds.
This Heriz is in very good shape with no issues. The wool is soft and hand spun and well pounded which makes the rug suitable for heavy traffic areas. Estimated time to hand make the rug is about 1000 hours!
